Movable roughing mill stand
The stand is a reversible two-high stand. The rolls are provided with a number of grooves, one for each pass, and the stand is axially moveable. The guides for each pass are mounted on rest bars fitted to the roll chocks.
The pass line is fixed. On each side of the stand there is a pair of side guards for centering and a manipulator for turning the rolled bar.
The stand is chosen as an economic alternative to a continuous roughing train or as a flexible solution when special alloy grades that display hot shortness or are sensitive to deformation rate are to be rolled.
